Game of Thrones sheet music

For those ones who looking for music score sheets of "Game of Thrones" main theme. Very simple implementation quickly made by me just because I had not found scores on Internet. I am sure the key and accords are correct, but time signature may be wrong (3/4 is best that I tried to). But whatever it is, it sounds good.

UPD. Another version. I transposed it for flute and guitar.

Video (sorry for my bad playing style):

  1. half the durations so you get duplets instead of dotted quavers

  2. but thank you! -looks good apart from that

  5. The time signature should be 6/8 instead of 3/4.

In Bar 14, the rhythm is a bit off too. To make it work with 6/8 time, try a quarter note followed by an eighth note, then a quarter note followed by an eighth note. D on Beat 1, Eb on Beat 3, D on Beat 4, Bb on Beat 6.

Lastly, I like to take bars 17 to the end up an octave in the treble clef so that the two voices don't cross in bars 19 and 21.

Thanks for transcribing this - it was a lot of fun to play.

    1. The opening GOT music does change rhythm. Thought I might be losing my musical mind. So, thanks for bringing it up! (None-the-less, It is a beautiful tune.)

  6. I think 12/8 is best.

  7. Though 6/8 gives each phrase four measures instead of two. In either case, the left hand is one eighth note off set, the base rhythm being two eighths followed by two sixteenths.
The thing I like the most is the mode change in the eight beat introduction: four beats of c minor followed by four of c major.

  8. This is astonishingly incorrect. Did you even listen to the piece of music while arranging it? The syncopation for the left hand isn't even close, and the intervals in what you've written for the melody is very wrong as well.

    1. You're either tone deaf or can't read music. Both probably. Just listen to the melody notes of the 2nd bar:

      This transcription:

      C F G C C Eb

      The actual notes
      Eb F G C Eb F

If you can't hear the difference, now would be a good time to give it up whatever instrument you think you can play.

    2. I agree with you totally. This is somewhat right, but the left hand rhythms aren't even close to correct. Even the melody is off, both in notes and timing. This is a decent start, but it needs a lot of work

    3. Agreed. This is wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. The only note in each phrase that is correct is the opening one. In the second phrase (F - Bb) even the shape of the phrase is wrong... Time signature's incorrect, tempo should be more like 87, not 100. I think the key signature's right. Grats on that...

  9. Can you make one for "Goodbye Brother" (Game of Thrones)

  10. do you have a midi of your interpretation?

    ReplyDelete
  11. As I have been clarified, the measures is 6/8 all the piece.
Yes, I know that left hand play is incorrect, but this is my implementation, is not it? It is good while I like it. No matter an accompaniment, the achievement was the main party sheet music as simple helper in order to just start playing.
Here is a disposal in midi file:

  14. very simple version????

  15. Yeah, I'm sorry but this is all so incorrect - rhythmically, metrically, and melodically - it borders on useless.
I was actually in the middle of preparing this transcription myself as a duet for Viola & Cello (for my nephews). When it's done, I'll come back and post links for you to see.

  18. Thank you! I liked it very much, and since i'm still a beginner student, it's easier for me to play it. But I was wondering, do you have any plans to continue the sheet music, i mean, the rest of it?

    1. Unfortunately no. I'm not a musician you know. As you can see by other comments in this post, the sheet is not brilliant =) This was only one for fun and just a material to play with my friends. So I think, that you should to continue the sheet by yourself =) This will improve your skills.

  19. I actually think that the comments above are quite rude. Even if this isn't the closest to the actual music - you have tried and have put this forward and therefore I feel you should be applauded.

Other people on here - please try to show some respect for others who do things voluntarily to help others. They may not get things 100% but at least they are positive and try.

  20. Agreed dailygenius. If you are going to be rude and indignant about someone else's work at least have the decency to post your own.

Thanks teal - you got me on the right track!

  21. Wow. Have people no respect?
You've clearly stated this isn't meant to be an exact replica of the theme song. Regardless, I'm glad you posted and hope you don't listen to these people.

    So god-damn rude...

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree. People are tremendously rude. It is indeed tremendously incorrect, but for someone who just wants the basics it is ok. Thank you for your effort. The above assholes can go fuck themselves. Transcription is no easy task.

  23. If any of the above comments are referring to me (Peter) I understand. The sentiment and language was strong, but honest.

Nevertheless, just because someone made the effort, doesn't mean it needs to be lauded. Incorrect is incorrect, and from s musical standpoint it renders it un-performable, hence useless.

And I did post a correct version for those of who who need to see. I also did a piano version here:

  24. it's not rude, it's constructive criticism. you can listen to it and let it help you or you can cry about it. it's no ones fault that others can't handle honest opinions

    ReplyDelete
  25. and everyone's got the time signature wrong too, lol, it's 12/8.

  26. Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the pictures on this blog loading?
I'm trying to find out if its a problem on my end or if it's the blog.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

  27. It is possible for a piece to be simultaneously "in" three four, and six eight, or in 64, 12,8 and 4,4 all at once.

So those that dither about which time signature to represent it in are nitpicking at best,
As for " Anonymous05 August, 2011 05:37" the best musicians are those who encourage others or at worst refrain from blurting (should that be splurting) their small minded views.
"Did you even listen to this piece" is not constructive criticism.
Good on you for posting this piece.
